Long Life Structures specialise in the construction of a complete thermal envelope that is thermally efficient and airtight to exceptional levels using ecological insulations and products throughout.

We are much more than a timber frame company, we are thermal envelope specialists.

In order to achieve a highly efficient thermal envelope, the three key areas are structural, insulation and airtightness elements. These must be strategically planned and engineered well in advance of any manufacturing. We address these elements during our meticulous design coordination phase.

We take ownership of the airtightness and insulation through to completion, from taping all the windows, to insulating every last part of the thermal envelope, to carrying out an independent blower door test on completion. To date, we have been very fortunate to build stunning, challenging and very complex homes and have yet to fail a blower door test to the passive house standard of 0.6ach. Results like this don’t just happen, it not only takes meticulous design detailing on paper, it also has to follow through to site in practice. Additional effort, time and patience is required. For this reason the Managing Director, Emmet Nee, a carpenter, passive house trades person and consultant, takes a hands on approach erecting every home with our own team of dedicated erectors. This is testament to our dedication in delivering ecological, high performance, forever homes.

We differ from other timber frame companies, in that our principles are to maximize thermal efficiency through  meticulous design, manufacturing and construction.

We will work with you to deliver a building which will be engineered to the highest standards, insulated and sealed using top quality products for the complete thermal envelope. Our packages include the insulated foundation, the timber frame insulation and airtightness, with a range of external finishes from roofing to cladding.
